The village is 6,60 km2, distributed in a triangular form. It is formed by three areas:Sant Vicenç de Torelló, Borgonyà and Vila-seca. It is situated in the north of the Ges Valley, close to municipalities of Sant Pere de Torelló and Torelló. The village increased its population in the 19th century due to the creation of two areas inside (Vila-Seca and Borgonà) as a result the industrialisation process close to the river Ter.
