The town was set surrounding Santa Coloma de Pujolric church, which was later named Santa Coloma de Vinyoles. In the XX century it was still a farming town, but through time had developed its trade and industry. Industries such as the food and textile sectors, as well as a summer resort, which is accesible by train.
