Sant Martí d'Albars

Sant Martí d’Albars is one of the least large and populated villages in the area. It is situated between the rivers Lluçanès and Gavarresa, which are their eastern and western limits. The majority of its territory is occupied by common pastures and woodbrush. The village is divided in three nucleus: Beulaigua, la Blava (where the town hall is) and Sant Martí. Except this one, the other nucleus were created in the 18th century due to the activites generated by the migrating flocks which found it an ideal step between the two rivers to cross from the plain to the Pyrenean and Pre-pyrenean mountains.
